On another note, I will have the cutest little penguin and the prettiest bumblebee on the block come Halloween night! I was relieved that Tweenie's costume is much more modest than it appeared in the catalog - no tank top necessary underneath (that was our deal!), and am just delighted that my Little Man still likes the idea of funny, cute animal costumes instead of creepy stuff. I know, I know, it's probably the last year I'll get that gift, but I am completely and utterly smitten by the innocence my little penguin still shows and the literal jumping for joy that her bumblebee costume brings.
Gotta go - time for the annual watching of "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"! Enjoy your Halloween, be safe, and share your costumes here, fellow Politicos! I can't wait to hear what fun your 31st will bring!

Ugh. Halloween costumes have been the fight of the week in our house. Why don't they make Halloween costumes for girls that stylish but not slutty? We would up getting wings and a mask for her to wear with clothes she already owns.
I hear ya, Sue - it started with little girls' clothes being duplicates of slutty women's clothes, and then made the jump to Halloween costumes. Frustrating and always a battle. Sounds like you took a good route for something decent to wear - way to go!

My son is twenty, so the days of costume wrangling have long passed. But what has not passed is my disgust for Joe Lieberman, who, I am embarrassed to say, is my Senator. I voted for Ned Lamont. He should have been Senator, as he won the Democratic primary.
I am also a Rachel fan. I've been following her since her radio debut on Air America.
During the Bush administration, I haunted the pages of dailykos.com and americablog.com. Wish I had known about you back then. Love your blog and am now following.

Okay, so Joe Lieberman? Boy, do I hear ya, Sister! I want to kick his ass. I want to personally strip him of his committee chairmanship and put his gavel where the sun don't shine. I want to tell him we're kicking him out of the caucus and running someone against him, someone who will tear him limb for limb, politically speaking. Yeah, I'd give a lot for five minutes with Joe in a dark alley...
